Product Description

2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL is a selective systemic post-emergence herbicide formulated as a Soluble Liquid (SL) for effective control of a wide range of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. It is rapidly absorbed through the leaves and stems of weeds and translocated throughout the plant, providing complete control from shoots to roots without harming recommended crops when used as directed.

The herbicide works by mimicking the natural plant growth hormone (auxin), causing uncontrolled and abnormal cell growth that disrupts normal plant development, leading to twisting, wilting, and eventual death of susceptible weeds. Its systemic action ensures effective elimination of established weeds while reducing competition for nutrients, water, and sunlight.

Recommended for wheat, maize, sugarcane, sorghum, paddy, non-crop areas, aquatic weed management, and other suitable crops, 2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL effectively controls annual and perennial broadleaf weeds. It provides long-lasting weed control, improves crop growth and productivity, reduces yield losses due to weed competition, and is an effective tool for Integrated Weed Management (IWM) programs.

Mode of Action

2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL is a selective systemic post-emergence herbicide that acts as a synthetic auxin (plant growth regulator). After application, it is absorbed through the leaves, stems, and roots of susceptible weeds and rapidly translocated throughout the plant via the vascular system.

It disrupts the normal growth processes by mimicking the natural plant hormone auxin, causing uncontrolled cell division and elongation, abnormal growth, twisting, stem bending (epinasty), wilting, and eventual death of the weed. Its systemic movement ensures complete control of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds, including certain Cyperus (sedge) species, by eliminating both above-ground and underground plant parts.
